Patrick Vermette has joined Meatleo has Chief Scientific Officer. Patrick is a Bioprocess Engineer, and he has acquired a reputation of expertise in the development and validation of biomaterials and medical devices applied in surgery and regenerative medicine.

For more than twenty years, he has designed numerous bioreactors as well as several unit operations involving various types of biomanufacturing, both in terms of fermentation bioprocesses and the culture of mammalian cells.

He is a key player in the technology transfer of biotechnology industries, supervising many students and entrepreneurs in business start-ups. He specializes in technological de-risking, prototyping, and establishing roadmaps leading to the approval of medical devices, thus contributing to the project commercial success.

Patrick is obsessed about leveraging people scientific and engineering mindset and talent, which is exactly what he’s been doing as a university professor and will continue to do in his academic role as well as Chief Scientific Officer of Meatleo.

Marie-Josée Beaudet has joined Meatleo as Senior Biologist. She has more than 20 years of experience in cellular culture and specialized in cell differentiation and tissue engineering. She is deeply motivated by the improvement and optimization of processes and protocols that aim to achieve higher levels of performance and quality.

Marie-Josée is fascinated by the study of living mechanisms, and her focused and attention is to better understand cell behavior, including cell proliferation and differentiation. Respecting life and living beings and going beyond known limits are part of her personal and professional values. She found her place at Meatleo.
